Is Texas hiding some of its dropouts behind a homeschooling charade?

That's what some in the Lonestar State want to know after they noticed a nearly 25 percent hike in the number of students in home education students from 2007 to 2008. 

Texas education officials have launched an audit to find out whether some of the 22,260 students purportedly in home school aren't simply dropouts who have been hidden from the system in order to make district completion rates look better.
