Journal: "There are grounds for hope in these difficult times"

The latest issue of The International Journal of School Disaffection is available at The National Dropout Prevention Center/Network's website.

This edition of the journal includes articles on disproportionate minority representation in suspensions and expulsions, discipline reform initiatives, and one community manufacturer's efforts to reduce the dropout rate as a means to increase the hiring pool.

"... there are grounds for hope in these difficult times," the journal's editors wrote. "In this issue of the journal we hear from a wide range of researchers, educators and from some young people too. They inhabit very different places and educational settings but they all have important stories to tell and questions to ask about the concept of achievement and the meaning of inclusion. They remind us that schools are complex systems and that teaching is often difficult, but that, on a human scale, what we do matters."

Nice information, many thanks

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck!
