"I knew then that I had messed up"

A recent article by Larry Miller of The Philadelphia Tribune, should be required reading for anyone considering dropping out of high school.

A little taste:

"I would go out looking for work and couldn’t find anything. I remember one place where I filled out an application and there were several other people after the same job. They had high school diplomas or college degrees. I knew then that I had messed up. Even if you apply for a job at McDonald’s they want you to have a high school diploma or at least be in school. I applied at one Mickey D’s and told them I was still in school. They asked to see my transcripts, which I couldn’t provide.”
