Happy New Year from NoDropout.org

Dear friends,

We've learned a lot since launching NoDropouts.org, five months ago:

We've learned that everyone can play a role in the effort to keep students in school.

We've learned that empathy can be a powerful weapon when dealing with students who need a little extra support to get to graduation day.

We've learned that it's crucial to change the way we've always thought about how school "works."

We've learned that it's not enough to focus on raising numbers — we must focus on raising spirits.

We've learned that this battle isn't just about helping students succeed — it's about saving lives.

But perhaps most of all, we've learned that there are some amazing people engaged in this fight, and so we are entering the New Year feeling inspired and optimistic.

The challenges we face are great. The methods we are using to face those challenges are diverse. But everyone involved in the effort to end the dropout epidemic shares one common goal: To change our world by giving students the opportunity to succeed in school.

We're proud to be a part of this movement and we look forward to sharing more of your ideas and inspirations in 2011!

Happy New Year,

The NoDropouts.org Team
